Magic on a Mission

Wait, where does MoodFood Studio fit into all of this?
"Ultimately, it doesn't feel empowering at all to fundraise for money so you can do the things you want. Don't you remember asking your parents for money and being so frustrated when they wouldn't pony up the dough (never understood that expression but you get my point! haha). I want to be able to be giving, helpful, and support my community without having to ask someone else for the money to fund my cause. To me, it's truly empowering to spend my own energy and time, earning my funding it in a way that I enjoy, and that fulfills me in a deep way. MoodFood Studio provides to me the exact fertile environment to promote the same messages and philosophies I want to promote. Encouraging self empowerment, self love, and believing in yourself and your own ability to create change. Hence, MoodFood Studio is here to stay. It will give me the ability to support myself and my two daughters as a single mother working from home. As well as the financial and social ability to create change, and bring assistance and light where it's needed. I aim to be a woman my community can be proud of, and I am willing to work hard to earn that!
Love to all of you! I hope you enjoy this sneak peak into MoodFood Studio's History.
Origins
In 2008 I founded MoodFood Events.
A small catering company, that began as a way to support my arts community by catering the art exhibitions of emerging artists. It gave them the ability to focus on what was important to them, the curating of the show and allowed me the flexibility to give their event an edge with my knowledge of event planning, service, food service and catering. It was very successful, and over time I came to cater more than 20 gallery events with my one man operation. Later on, I was invited to participate in “KC+Connect” an event series hosted my KC Studio Magazine, the largest exclusively arts magazine in the Kansas City area. MoodFood had also earned itself a sponsorship with a well known CSA box company Door to Door Organics. They were fast growing for a great reason, they had the best products you could find, from the small farms and small businesses that were needing to be found. For these events, the purpose was to bring everyone together. During the series, we hosted openings and closings at five well known Kansas City galleries, featuring 40 emerging artists young entrepreneurs, and the local organic food scene. We were all supporting one another, like we all should, and defining a unified culture in the city.
After the final event, I stepped away to breathe and find my next passion. Though I had participated in the efforts of some amazing organizations and group projects, I was a bit lost. At least I thought I was.
In 2018 I began making wands for sale. I had been making them over the years to donate to children's programs and shelter services, I had made hundreds that were never documented. Then I myself needed the help, and decided to try my hand on Etsy selling these interesting pieces. I liked them, I found it very enjoyable to make an art form like this, it was easy to translate my artist style to this small delicate scale, and it provided just the right situation, just the right conditions for this dream, like an ancient tree, to slowly grow.
Now here we are. Now the question is where will it go next?
